Local libraries awarded commendations


All four area libraries received positive recognition from the Governor’s Office recently. George Culver Community, Ruth Culver Community, Black Earth Community, and Mazomanie Free Libraries each received a commendation. According to the Governor’s Office: “The governor wanted to recognize public libraries that are serving their communities well, which we understand is the case for all 460 or so public libraries in Wisconsin, including, of course, the Black Earth Public Library, the Mazomanie Free Library, the Ruth Culver Community Library, and the George Culver Community Library. So, the certificates of commendation are tokens of appreciation from the governor for the critical role public libraries play in our communities, and every public library and library system in Wisconsin will receive one if they have not already from a member of our staff directly or through the mail.” Pictured is the Black Earth Library’s commendation.
