Leola Hall opens on a day spent celebrating the arts

On a day of artistic acts playing under the sun, Sauk Prairie Superintendent Jeff Wright spoke of the fact that in Sauk Prairie the student art is displayed by the community—in structures like River Arts and Leola Hall. And it’s in those Sauk Prairie structures where the community celebrates its art. Outgoing Executive Director of River Arts Lindsey Giese spoke—emotionally, at times—of Lea Culver’s local contributions to the arts over the years—as they all stood before Culver’s namesake, a new multi-purpose space designed for meetings, lectures, banquets, and performances, among other events. The project was funded in part by a $1.75 million dollar donation from Culver, a Sauk Prairie Schools 2020 referendum, and $272,000 from River Arts Inc. Photo by Joe Block
