Shark in the park takes over Lake Marion celebration

Lake Marion is finally a lake again, after a concerted effort by the village. The restoration project, which began last year and endured record flooding rains, was complete by summer.

There was an ice cream social, carriage rides stopping at local historic Sauk City locations, tours of Park Hall, music by the Iron Horse Comet Band, games, and President and Mrs. Lincoln, and friends. Roxbury’s Dorf Haus named top supper club

The Dorf Haus Bavarian Style Supper Club, Roxbury, near Sauk City, has been named top Supper Club in the annual STAR of Madison reader poll, where fans vote for a month for all their favorites.

Arena News

The Rural School bus trip is this Saturday, October 12. The Arena Historians have done this trip several times and each time is different. You must be at the ex-elementary school parking lot at 8:30 a.m. that morning to get on the bus. There is a fee of $3 for the trip.

Mazo PD holding drug takeback

The Mazomanie Police Department will be holding a drug takeback day Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the police station, 133 Crescent Street, Mazomanie, WI.
Bring unused, unwanted, and expired prescriptions as well as over the counter and controlled medications.

District One EMS’ Jim Wick awarded First Responder of the Year

Jim Wick was honored as the First Responder of the Year for the 81st Assembly District. Wick was invited onto the Assembly floor for a ceremony and received a citation for the award.
