Village of Prairie du Sac announces resources for businesses in response to COVID-19

At is April 14, 2020 meeting, the Village of Prairie du Sac Board of Trustees authorized a number of responses to COVID-19.  The responses included assistance for businesses located within the Village of Prairie du Sac affected by COVID-19 and the State of Wisconsin Safe at Home order.

Arena holds first conference call meeting, handles large agenda

The Arena Village Board held their April meeting via conference call because of the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that the board members attended the meeting by telephone.  There was a large agenda to go through, but all went well with the meeting running smoothly. Village president Kate Reimann chose voice vote on for all action items.

Village of Prairie du Sac residents can get help with electric bills

The Village of Prairie du Sac Utilities urges electric customers concerned about being able to pay their bill to apply for Energy Assistance. Funding is available to help income-qualified residential customers pay their electric bills, including those whose employment has been impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. 

Town of Vermont faces budget crunch

Two significant expenses for the Town of Vermont are coming due soon and the typical annual budget may not have the funds to handle the purchases.

Black Earth declares state of emergency, agrees to provide public works mutual aid for neighboring communities

The Village of Black Earth followed suit with neighboring communities at their March 30 meeting and declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The declaration qualifies the village for reimbursement for COVID-19 related costs.

Sauk City asks residents to vote absentee

We would like to let the public know that we are highly encouraging absentee voting for this April 7th election, in an attempt to lessen the amount of people gathering at Village Hall to vote on election day.

The Black Earth Chamber planned to have a candidate forum for those running for office in Black Earth on April 2. It had to be cancelled. The chamber wrote to each candidate:

Sauk City proclaims ‘Bologna Day”

On March 10, the Sauk City Village Board had it’s regular meeting. The board voted to hire Kaitlin Nye as the Utility Billing Clerk. Nye will be stepping tin o fill the shoes of Janet Kraemer. Kraemer has been the Utility Billing Clerk for Sauk City for just shy of 30 years.

Prairie du Sac to buy pumper truck

The Prairie du Sac board met on March 10 for its regular meeting. Strand Associates presented bids for street improvement projects. There were seven bids received for the project. The low bid of $1,299,231 was from A-1 Excavating, Inc.

Sauk County Board declares emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Sauk County Board has declared a countywide emergency in light of COVID-19.
