Fatal crash on Highway 12 by Roxbury

On Monday, February 1, 2021 at approximately 2:23pm, Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Sauk Prairie Fire and EMS were dispatched to an injury crash on USH 12 near Breunig Road, in the Town of Roxbury.

Sauk Prairie Healthcare is now offering COVID19 vaccinations to those who are eligible. Individuals age 65 or older may sign up on Sauk Prairie Healthcare’s COVID-19 vaccination waiting list by going to www.SaukPrairieHealthcare.org/covid19-vaccine.

Sauk County preparing for resident vaccinations

Sauk County Public Health and area healthcare providers are preparing for the next phases of COVID-19 vaccinations. Each agency in Sauk County has a slightly different procedure for vaccine distribution.

COVID-19 cases continue to trickle in, at a much lower rate

Area COVID-19 cases saw a total increase of just 21, a far cry from the November peak. Unfortunately, there was one new death. In the area defined by the Wisconsin Heights and Sauk Prairie School Districts, there were 33 new cases. This area includes about 27,000 residents.

Prairie du Sac and Sauk City gain more reliable electrical supply

American Transmission Co. has completed and placed into service a major high-voltage electric transmission project that benefits the municipalities of Prairie du Sac and Sauk City.

COVID-19 cases continue downward trend

COVID-19 cases continue to trickle into the area, but at a rate far less than what was seen in the fall. There have been 1,482 cases in general population defined by the Sauk Prairie and Wisconsin Heights School District. The Sauk Prairie School District geographical area has recorded five deaths; the Wisconsin Heights area ten.
