Dane County purchases land along creek

County Executive Joe Parisi announced Dane County will purchase 14.6 acres of property in the Town of Black Earth located on Black Earth Creek, south of State Highway 14. The acquisition will fill in a connection between Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Black Earth Creek Fishery Area lands.

County KP bridge over Black Earth Creek in Cross Plains under construction this summer

The Dane County Highway & Transportation Department and representatives of the Village of Cross Plains have determined the County Highway KP Bridge over Black Earth Creek is in need of reconstruction. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin in July and will result in about a two-month closure of the bridge in Cross Plains.
