Wisconsin Heights, Sauk Prairie School Districts partner to “grow their own” teachers

The GROW Cooperative, which consists of the Cambridge, Lodi, Sauk Prairie, and Wisconsin Heights School Districts, were awarded a $264,000 Workforce Innovation Grant to foster a “grow your own” program to develop teachers using a multi-layered approach at a ceremony at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore on Thursday, June 23.

At Sauk Prairie Middle School teachers Hans Fester, Kelly Miller, and Angie Schmidt have retired.  

Bridges raises $37,000 for climbing wall

Students at Bridges Elementary in the Sauk Prairie School District have been busy lately, all working towards a common, tangible, goal. It would have been easy to miss the official action on their goal at last Monday’s school board meeting because it was just part of a routine meeting. 

But it must have meant everything to those kids.

The Wisconsin Heights School District held Closing Ceremonies for Black Earth and Mazomanie Elementary Schools last week. There were short speeches by board members and administration at each ceremony. Here are the speeches:

 

Wisconsin Heights Vanguards Class of 2022

The Class of 2022 celebrates moments after turning their tassels, as Bailey Wolf, Class President, rises his hat, above. At right, everyone was all smiles as their received their diplomas.

Optimists honor SPSD retirees


On May 18, the Sauk Prairie Optimist Club honored Sauk Prairie School District retirees at a breakfast held at the River Arts Center Gallery at Sauk Prairie High School. After a tasty breakfast compliments of the District’s Food Service department was served, a welcome was given by Sauk Prairie Optimist President Bart Mauch, and a slide show presentation with narration by Superintendent Jeff Wright and building administrators at Bridges, Jamie Breunig, and Tower Rock, Kelly Petroski, as well as Chad Harnisch, High School Principal, were given. Melissa Sumwalt, Administrative Assistant to Wright, created the slide show with the assistance of Optimist member Ellen Paul, decorations were provided by Optimist member Diane Shaw and the event was organized by Paul. Certificates and gifts from the Club were awarded as well. Look for more on the retirees in future issues. The May Above The Line theme was “Citizenship.” The students listed below received awards on Friday, May 13, from their classroom teacher or staff who felt that they are an individual that demonstrates citizenship in and out of the classroom. Congratulations to these students!
