Eagles’ dream season dies

STOUGHTON — After the final whistle had blown, many of the Sauk Prairie seniors remained on the field.

There were some smiles, some tears, and a few pictures taken with friends who had ventured onto the field.

Eagles’ swimmers rout Beaver Dam

It was the perfect night for seniors Summer Acker, Abbey McCumber, Alexa Judd, Giulia Brickl, Isabel Menendez and Patricia Silva to finish off their home careers.

Soccer Vanguards hoping for playoff run

The postseason is here.

And to say the boys soccer team from Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld has high hopes would be a massive understatement.

“We are positioned for a run at state,” Vanguards’ coach Bartlett Holmes said.

Two Vanguards win XC titles

Christian Patzka and Samantha Herrling are conference champions.

The rest of their teams performed like champs, as well.

At the Southern Capitol Conference cross country meet held last Saturday, Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld had a bevy of memorable performances.

Eagles’ soccer team wins league

When the going gets tough, as the adage goes, the tough get going.

Senior forward and co-captain Evan Carlson capped a perfect week for Sauk Prairie with a pair of game-winning goals as the Eagles won the outright Badger North Conference boys’ soccer championship.

Heights spikers set for playoffs

Kala O’Connell gave the traditional “coach speak.”

One game at a time. Not looking ahead, etc., etc.

But O’Connell, Wisconsin Heights’ girls’ volleyball coach, has a good feeling about her Vanguards.

Eagles’ boys defend title


Sauk Prairie’s boys’ cross country team defended its title at the Badger North Conference championship meet in DeForest last Saturday. DEFOREST – It was a beautiful day for a run on the Don Batty Cross Country Course at the Windsor Sports Complex last Saturday morning.

With temperatures in the mid 50’s and partly sunny skies, the Sauk Prairie boys’ couldn’t have chosen a better day to defend their Badger North Conference title.

Exiting in style

The 2019 season was a joyride packed with more success than most people saw coming.

Things could be even better in 2020.

Wisconsin Heights’ football team capped a sensational season last Friday with a 50-6 destruction of Williams Bay. The Vanguards finished the year 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Great 8 Conference.

Eagles soar into playoffs

BEAVER DAM — Well, it’s official: the Eagles have landed ... in the WIAA playoffs, for the first time since 2007.

Needing a win to guarantee themselves a spot in the postseason, Sauk Prairie’s football team went to Beaver Dam last Friday and left with a resounding 56-22 win in the final game of the regular season.
