ASHTON – It was a perfect, sun-splashed afternoon for baseball Sunday, and the host Ashton A’s brought their ‘A’ game.

It’s been 55 years since Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team has won the league championship.

The 2021 Twins seem hell-bent on ending that lengthy drought, though.

Eagles hoping to bounce back

Nolan Vils has been a successful three-sport athlete for the Sauk Prairie Eagles the past two years, including earning back-to-back sectional appearances in wrestling along with playing JV baseball.

But the 6-foot-2, 240-pound junior running back and noseguard would like his success to translate onto the gridiron again this fall.
