Sacramento, California – The Sacramento Police Department is looking into a deadly shooting that happened in Old North Sacramento early Saturday morning. One man was killed and neighbors shaken.
The Sacramento Police Department said that officers were sent to the 900 block of Eleanor Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. after people in the area said they heard gunfire. When patrol units got there, they found an adult man with several gunshot wounds. The scene was quickly secured as officers attempted to assess the situation and provide aid.
Emergency medical workers took the victim to a nearby hospital. Authorities stated he was dead soon after getting there, even though they tried to save him. His name hasn’t been made public pending notification of family members.
Detectives from the homicide department are now in charge of the case and are trying to figure out what happened before the shooting. As of Saturday morning, investigators had not made any arrests and had not released any information about probable suspects or a possible motive.
