Sacramento webinar to guide residents on water saving landscaping rebates worth up to $3000

Published on

Sacramento, California – Sacramento residents interested in cutting down on outdoor water use will soon have a chance to learn how simple yard improvements can also bring money back into their pockets. City officials are inviting the public to attend a free online webinar on March 25 that will explain how local rebate programs can help offset the cost of water-saving upgrades at home.

The one-hour session is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. and will feature guidance from the City’s water conservation specialists. The presentation is designed for homeowners who want to make their landscapes more efficient but may not know where to begin or how to access available incentives.

According to William Granger, the City’s water conservation coordinator, many residents are eager to improve their yards but feel uncertain about the first steps. The upcoming webinar aims to remove that uncertainty by outlining the programs currently available and explaining how residents can benefit from them.

During the presentation, participants will learn about rebate opportunities offered through the City’s conservation programs. Residential customers may qualify for financial assistance of up to $3,000 when replacing traditional grass lawns with drought-tolerant landscaping.

Additional incentives are also available for improving irrigation systems. Homeowners can receive up to $800 for irrigation upgrades, including rebates of up to $400 for installing smart irrigation controllers designed to use water more efficiently.

City experts will also provide practical advice drawn from common experiences working with residents who have already completed these projects. Attendees will hear about typical pitfalls people encounter when applying for rebates, along with straightforward tips that can help make the process smoother from start to finish.

Granger said the goal of the event is to make water-saving improvements feel both accessible and achievable. By walking residents through the rebate process step by step, the City hopes to ensure homeowners feel confident about planning and completing their landscape upgrades.

The webinar will also include time for questions, allowing participants to seek clarification about the rebate programs or discuss their own outdoor water-saving ideas with conservation specialists.

Residents who cannot attend the live session will still be able to benefit. Anyone who registers for the webinar will receive a recording afterward, ensuring the information remains accessible even for those with busy schedules.

Registration for the March 25 webinar is available online, offering Sacramento residents a simple way to explore how thoughtful landscaping changes can conserve water while also returning valuable savings through the City’s rebate programs.
