Sacramento, California – A 2-year-old child and his 22-year-old mother have been missing in Sacramento since Sunday afternoon, prompting police to ask the public for help finding them.
The search involves Alexia James and her son, Michael Keola. Sacramento police consider both at risk, but for different reasons: authorities said Alexia is at risk because of a mental health condition, while Michael is considered especially vulnerable because of his young age.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, Alexia and Michael were last seen at about 1 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the 6900 block of Wagon Wheel Way.
Police released descriptions of both missing people as officers seek information that could help determine where they are.
Alexia is 22 years old and described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 146 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, Alexia was wearing cheetah-print pajamas.
Michael is 2 years old. Police described him as approximately 2 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 40 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing brown pajamas decorated with fire trucks.
The circumstances surrounding their disappearance were not detailed in the information released by police. Authorities have not provided another possible location for Alexia and Michael or indicated where they may have gone after they were last seen on Wagon Wheel Way.
With a young child involved and Alexia considered at risk, police are asking residents to pay close attention to the descriptions and report any information that could help locate them.
