Sacramento, California – Sacramento police are asking residents to keep an eye out for a 66-year-old man who has been missing since late September, with authorities emphasizing that his medical and mental health conditions make the search especially urgent.
Richard Peltier was last seen on Sept. 28, and the Sacramento Police Department is now turning to the public for help finding him and determining where he may have gone.
According to police, Peltier was last spotted at about 11:30 a.m. in the 10 block of Synthia Court. Authorities have classified him as an at-risk missing person because of a medical condition and a mental health condition.
Police described Peltier as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has gray hair and blue eyes.
When he was last seen, Peltier was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and green Crocs, according to the information released by the department.
Those details could be important for anyone who was in the Synthia Court area around the time of his disappearance or who may have encountered someone matching his description elsewhere afterward. Police have not provided additional information about where Peltier may have been headed after he was last seen.
The department is asking people to pay particular attention to Peltier’s physical description and clothing and to contact officers if they believe they have seen him.
Missing-person cases involving people considered at risk can depend heavily on tips from members of the public, particularly when investigators are trying to establish a person’s movements after their last confirmed sighting. In this case, Sacramento police are directly asking the community to assist with the search.
Anyone who has seen Richard Peltier, knows his current location or has information that could help officers locate him is asked to contact the Sacramento Police Department immediately.
Police have not announced that Peltier has been found, and the request for information remains focused on locating him safely.
