Bradshaw Animal Shelter brings free dog and cat vaccinations to South Sacramento event this weekend

Published on

Sacramento, California – Sacramento families can spend part of Saturday enjoying free activities, music and community resources, and pet owners will have another reason to stop by. Dogs and cats can receive vaccinations at no cost during the 8th Annual Southgate Plaza Fun Fair.

The Bradshaw Animal Shelter will join Supervisor Patrick Kennedy at the community event on Saturday, Sept. 19, bringing free pet vaccinations to eligible Sacramento County residents. The vaccinations are being sponsored by Petco Love.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southgate Plaza, 4242 Florin Road in Sacramento. Admission is free.

For pet owners, the Bradshaw Animal Shelter table will be one of the main stops. Shelter staff will provide vaccinations at no charge, giving county residents an opportunity to take care of an important part of their pets’ health without paying for the service.

The vaccination program is limited to Sacramento County residents.

But pets are only part of what is planned for the four-hour event. Organizers are bringing together a range of activities and resources aimed at both children and adults.

Families can expect health resources and dental screenings, along with a petting zoo, children’s activities and games. DJ music will be part of the event, and visitors will also have opportunities to participate in raffles for prizes.

The mix gives residents several reasons to visit Southgate Plaza in one trip. Parents can bring children for games and entertainment, residents can connect with health-related resources, and eligible pet owners can stop at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter area for the free vaccination service.

The Southgate Plaza Fun Fair is now in its eighth year, continuing Saturday with another free community event built around family activities and access to local resources.

For residents planning to attend specifically for pet vaccinations, the key requirement is residency in Sacramento County. The service itself carries no charge because of Petco Love’s sponsorship.

The fair takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Southgate Plaza, 4242 Florin Road. Admission, activities and the advertised pet vaccination opportunity are free.
