Your next Sacramento park photo could appear on the county’s Annual Parks Pass under new contest

Sacramento, California – A beautiful sunset, an unexpected wildlife encounter or a simple afternoon spent with family could soon become the image representing Sacramento County’s regional parks. All it takes is a camera, a memorable moment and a photograph worth sharing.

Sacramento County is giving park visitors an opportunity to turn their outdoor experiences into something more lasting. One photograph will earn its creator a free Annual Parks Pass and a place on the pass placard.

The Sacramento County Department of Regional Parks has launched a photo contest inviting residents and park visitors to capture the scenery, activities and personal experiences that make the county’s outdoor spaces special.

The competition is already underway, and photographers have until October 23 to submit their entries.

Rather than focusing on a single location or type of photograph, the department is encouraging participants to show Sacramento County’s regional parks through their own eyes.

That could mean photographing a favorite walking trail, capturing wildlife in its natural surroundings or finding the perfect angle as the sun sets over a park.

Recreational activities are also part of the invitation. A day spent on the water, time exploring the outdoors or a meaningful moment shared with friends and family could provide the inspiration for a submission.

The department wants photographs that reflect the beauty, recreational opportunities and experiences available throughout its regional park system.

For the photographer behind the winning entry, the reward goes beyond recognition.

The selected photograph will appear on the Annual Parks Pass placard, giving the winning image a special role in representing Sacramento County’s parks. The photographer will also receive a free Annual Parks Pass.

Those interested in participating do not need to wait for a special event or organized photography session. The department is encouraging visitors to bring their cameras or phones along on their next park outing and capture whatever makes the experience memorable.

Photographers can submit their entries through the county’s online photo contest form before the October 23 deadline.

Residents looking for inspiration or hoping to discover another outdoor destination can also explore the official list of Sacramento County Regional Parks.

With the submission deadline approaching, the contest offers one more reason to visit a favorite park, explore a new trail or simply appreciate the natural surroundings.

This time, the photograph taken during that visit could become the image featured on Sacramento County’s Annual Parks Pass.
