California Gov. Newsom plans multistate tour tied to memoir release, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida stops confirmed

California – California Governor Gavin Newsom is preparing for a series of out-of-state appearances in the coming days, with South Carolina serving as a central stop in a tightly scheduled national tour tied to the release of his memoir, Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery.

Recent reports confirm that Newsom will arrive in South Carolina on February 23, 2026, marking his second visit to the state in roughly seven months. His itinerary begins with morning and midday engagements in Berkeley County and Clarendon County, organized by the South Carolina Democratic Party as part of its “On the Road Again with Gavin Newsom” series.

These gatherings are described as informal discussions centered on leadership, public service, and the concerns of rural communities. Later that same day, Newsom is expected in Rock Hill for a public appearance connected to his book tour.

The South Carolina visit comes amid a broader travel schedule that stretches across several states in late February and early March. The tour opens February 21 in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by a February 22 event in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is scheduled to appear in conversation with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. After the South Carolina stop, Newsom’s calendar includes appearances in Los Angeles on March 3, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on March 5, and Miami, Florida, on March 13. Additional locations may be announced as the tour continues.

The multi-state swing has drawn attention because of its timing and geography, with several stops located in early presidential primary states or traditionally Republican-leaning regions. While the appearances are formally tied to the memoir’s release, the travel schedule has also fueled ongoing discussion about Newsom’s potential national ambitions ahead of the 2028 election cycle.

For now, the focus remains on the book promotion tour and a sequence of closely spaced public events that will keep the California governor traveling across the country over the next several weeks.
