Sacramento County, California – Sacramento County residents will have five chances this month to meet the deputies and other Sheriff’s Office personnel assigned to their neighborhoods, without needing to visit a law enforcement office or wait for an emergency.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office North Division is taking that conversation directly into the community, scheduling a series of evening meetings across Sacramento, North Highlands, Orangevale and Rio Linda during the second half of August.
All five meetings begin at 6 p.m., with the first gathering scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Country Club Lanes, 2600 Watt Ave. in Sacramento. The location gives residents in the surrounding north Sacramento area an opportunity to meet members of the Sheriff’s Office who serve their community.
The following evening, Thursday, Aug. 20, the North Division will hold another meeting at Family Community Church, 6331 Watt Ave. in North Highlands.
After a short break in the schedule, the meetings resume Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Divine Savior Catholic Church, located at 9079 Greenback Lane in Orangevale. That gathering will also begin at 6 p.m.
The fourth meeting will take place Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Sheriff’s Community Room, 4510 Orange Grove Ave. in Sacramento. The series then concludes one night later, on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Rio Linda Youth Center, 627 L Street in Rio Linda.
By spreading the five meetings across several communities, the North Division is giving residents multiple opportunities to attend a gathering close to home. The events are centered on face-to-face interaction with Sheriff’s Office personnel serving the northern portion of Sacramento County.
The meetings are scheduled on five separate evenings over a nine-day period, allowing people from different parts of the North Division’s service area to choose the location that works best for them.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging community members to attend and meet the personnel working in their neighborhoods. Its invitation to residents is simple: “We hope to see you there!”
The August schedule begins at Country Club Lanes on Aug. 19 and continues through the Rio Linda Youth Center meeting on Aug. 27, with each event starting at 6 p.m.
