Sacramento, California – Halloween candy may bring families through the gate, but North Natomas’ upcoming fall celebration is offering much more than a traditional trunk-or-treat. Pumpkins, face painting, STEM activities and even free flu shots are all part of the same three-hour community event.
The Trunk-or-Treat & Autumn Festival will take over North Natomas Regional Park on Saturday, Oct. 24, giving families a free afternoon of costumes, games and seasonal activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held at the park at 2501 New Market Drive. Organizers are inviting residents to come dressed for Halloween and take part in trunk-or-treating, with free candy available during the celebration.
Families will also have a chance to pick up a free pumpkin while supplies last. Organizers said pumpkins will be limited to one per family. Sprouts Farmers Market is providing the pumpkins for the event.
Beyond the Halloween attractions, the festival will include face painting, games and other activities. The SMUD STEM Truck is also scheduled to participate, adding a hands-on educational component to an afternoon centered largely on fall fun.
Food trucks, retail vendors and other vendors are expected to be on site as well, giving visitors additional options while they move through the festival.
Health services will also be part of the event. Kaiser Permanente is bringing its mobile unit to North Natomas Regional Park, where visitors can access mobile screening services and free flu shots.
The festival’s sponsors include Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra and Lady Charmaine. Organizers also thanked Sprouts Farmers Market for supplying the pumpkins and Kaiser Permanente for bringing its mobile health services to the event.
With costumes, candy and pumpkins sharing space with health screenings and STEM activities, the gathering is designed as more than a quick stop for Halloween treats. Families can spend the full three-hour window exploring the different activities, meeting vendors and taking part in the seasonal celebration.
The Trunk-or-Treat & Autumn Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 at North Natomas Regional Park, 2501 New Market Drive. Admission is free.
