Sacramento, California – Sacramento’s Hollywood Park neighborhood leaned into summer on Saturday, June 13, as residents, families and local leaders gathered for the Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association’s 2nd Annual SummerFest.
The event was held at Two Rivers Cider Co., located at 4311 Attawa Ave., a local spot that has become a familiar setting for music, food vendors, trivia nights and neighborhood gatherings. On this sunny afternoon, it served as a meeting place for neighbors looking to enjoy live entertainment, share food, and spend time together outside the usual rush of daily life.

Sacramento City Councilmember Caity Maple attended with Team D5, joining residents from Hollywood Park and nearby parts of District 5, which includes Oak Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Maple used the event to highlight the importance of small, local gatherings that help keep communities connected.
“#TeamD5 had a great time at Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association’s 2nd Annual SummerFest at Two Rivers Cider! ☀️ It was wonderful spending time with neighbors, enjoying the festivities, and connecting with so many members of our community,” Maple posted on Facebook. “Events like this bring people together, strengthen neighborhood connections, and remind us what makes District 5 such a special place to call home.”
SummerFest returned this year after its first event in 2025, also hosted at Two Rivers Cider. The gathering is part of the Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association’s broader effort to encourage resident involvement and build stronger ties among people who live, work and raise families in the area.

The neighborhood association is also known for other local traditions, including its annual Fourth of July Parade. Together, these events help create a steady rhythm of civic life in Hollywood Park, giving neighbors more chances to meet one another and take part in the identity of the community.
Maple, who has represented District 5 since her election in 2022, has regularly taken part in neighborhood-level events as part of her work with residents. Her appearance at SummerFest reflected that local approach, with the afternoon centered less on speeches and more on conversation, visibility and connection.
As the event wrapped up, the message was simple: community is built in moments like these, through familiar faces, shared spaces and neighbors choosing to show up. Residents interested in future events can follow the Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association and local community pages for updates.
